The Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors will hold a meeting of their Community Relations Committee this Sunday (June 4). A post on social media from CSD Director Christina Gorke said that the committee would be discussing the status of the CSD itself, as well as senior activities in Morongo Valley.
The CSD’s regularly scheduled meetings for April and May were both cancelled due to lack of quorum, and since April 20, two board Directors, President Jennifer Henning and Vice President James Whitney, have resigned. In the absence of regularly scheduled meetings, the members of the Community Relations Committee, Directors Gorke and Johnnie Tolbert, held a meeting on May 17 in place of the regularly scheduled meeting of the full board, where they addressed many of the issues facing the board.
The fifth board director, Michael Emory, who is married to former Director Whitney, continues to face calls to resign, and a recall campaign against him is currently collecting signatures.
The Morongo Valley CSD Community Relations Committee will be held at 2 p.m. at the community center in Covington Park.
