MORONGO VALLEY AND DESERT HOT SPRINGS TREE LIGHTINGS TONIGHT

It just wouldn’t be Christmas in Morongo Valley without the annual tree lighting and hot chocolate. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has more on how to get in the spirit…

The holidays in Morongo Valley officially get underway on Friday, December 1 when the Morongo Valley Community Services District and Fire Department hold the annual tree lighting ceremony at the Fire Station, 11207 Ocotillo Street from 6 to 8 p.m. Get yourself a hot chocolate and settle in witness the arrival of Santa and his elves. Carolers from Morongo Valley Elementary School will help pass the minutes as everyone gets into the spirit. Or throw a hotdog or some smores on the grill and ease on in to the season.

Desert Hot Springs will kick off the holiday season with a tree-lighting ceremony Friday, December 1. The event will include live music, food, hot chocolate, Ferris wheel rides, face painting, train rides on the Polar Express, and of course, Santa and his reindeer. The event starts at 6 p.m. at Desert Hot Springs City Hall, at the corner of Palm Avenue and Pierson.
