The Morongo Unified School District board of directors will start their meeting tonight at 6:15 with a closed session discussion on student expulsions, an update on litigation, and negotiations with the Morongo Teachers Association and California School Employees Association. In its regular meeting at 7, the directors will recognize students from area schools in honor of Disabilities Awareness Month. Next, the school board will receive an update from NextEra about the school district’s solar project, and hold a public hearing on a renewal for Hope Academy’s charter. Under the consent agenda, directors will also be asked to give approval for students in the select choir and sixth grades to attend conferences, workshops, and science camp in the coming school year. It will hold a public hearing on whether all students have received their textbooks. On the action agenda, the board will approve provisional internship permits for five people, and will be asked to approve changes to the salary schedules for management and the superintendent. The meeting will be held at Joshua Tree Elementary School on Sunburst Avenue.
