MORONGO UNIFIED SCHOOL BOARD MEETS TONIGHT

The 7 p.m. open session of the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education meeting begins with a presentation by Heather Possehl on the “Mural-in-a-Day” project at Onaga Elementary School. Then employee of the year awards will be announced for teachers and classified staff at east end sites and the District Office. On the action agenda, the board is expected to support a resolution in favor of the Hi-Desert Medical Center affiliation measure. Also on the agenda are Board policies on advanced placement, achievement awards, admission, and transitional kindergarten. The board will consider whether to abolish one instructional assistant position at Condor Elementary School. The 6 p.m. closed session will deal with expulsions, employee discipline cases, and contract bargaining. The board meets at Joshua Tree Elementary School on Sunburst Avenue.
