The December 3 meeting of the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education begins with a closed session at 5 p.m. on discipline and bargaining issues. At 5:10, the Board begins a work/study session on field trips and on the Single Plans for Student Achievement from Morongo Valley, Landers, and Yucca Mesa Elementary Schools, and Twentynine Palms Junior High School. The regular open session at 7 p.m. will adopt those four plans. Condor Elementary School and La Contenta Middle School will be recognized for academic achievement, followed by a performance by the La Contenta Advanced Band. The action agenda includes a public hearing on school facilities fees; approval of policies related to Special Education, reimbursements, and bids; and many by-law updates, to match California School Board Association recommendations.
