The Morongo Unified School District Board of Education tonight will once again consider a so-called “sunshine proposal” to guide negotiations with the California School Employees’ Association for next year’s contract. The idea, district officials say, is to avoid a protracted impasse over pay and working conditions like what the district had with teachers last year. Tonight’s discussion continues one begun by the board last month. Also on the agenda is the district’s second interim budget report for fiscal 2016-2017. Tonight’s meeting gets underway at 7 p.m. at Joshua Tree Elementary School on Sunburst Avenue.
