Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees and the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education met yesterday. Sandwiched between the talk of projects, was the discussion of redistricting. CMC president Jeff Cummings stated that their stance was based on 2012 report, which concluded that redistricting was not needed. Cummings then ask the MUSD board for their opinion. MUSD Board Clerk Hilary Slotta informed Cummings that it is just a matter of time before they receive a letter from an attorney. To begin the process of redistricting would protect them from law suit and provided them with time to weight all there options. Other MUSD board members weight in similar opinion from their own research. Trustee Eva Kinsman thank them for their opinion and said there was much to consider before they decide. The meeting concluded with tentative second joint meeting in September and a fall summit in October.
