In Morongo Valley last night the Community Services District adopted the fiscal 2013-2014 budget with Director Chuck Osborne opposed. All other actions were unanimous. And in a move to generate some revenue from voluntary contributions, Director Kristina Brook proposed an ad hoc committee to look into initiating a campaign with the aim of enlisting 365 Morongo Valley families to contribute a dollar a day for one year with the booty going to the fire and parks departments. Under director’s comments, it was made clear that the CSD had no more advance notice than did the rest of the community that the Caltrans highway delineators would be erected. The highway is not within CSD jurisdiction and people wishing to comment on the highway project should contact Caltrans and not the CSD office.
