San Bernardino County reported 423 new coronavirus cases, but no new deaths Monday (July 6). The number of confirmed cases in the county so far rose to 15,345. Deaths remained at 269.
Here in the Morongo Basin we have 109 confirmed cases: Yucca Valley with 62, Joshua Tree 20, Twentynine Palms 16, and Morongo Valley at 11. A projected 8,324 people have recovered, according to the county. On Sunday (July 5) there were 484 COVID-19 positive patients and 81 patients suspected to have the disease in county hospitals, according to the state’s data.
So far, 160,643 people have been tested in the county of 2.1 million residents, 9.6 percent were positive. The time it takes for the virus to double in the community was 19.8 days.
