MORONGO BASIN UNITY HOME HOSTS FUNDRAISER TO HONOR “TEEN DATING VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH”

February is “Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month” and the Morongo Basin Unity Home is hosting an awareness fundraiser on February 9. Reporter Heather Clisby says “save the date”…
Tragically, the statistics reveal a grim picture: one out of four teenage girls will be abused in her lifetime and fifty percent of dating violence occurs in school. The Morongo Basin Unity Home, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, knows that such abuse is a “generational learned behavior” that can sometimes be avoided with education. So to raise funds and honor “Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month,” Unity Home will host a fundraiser on Saturday, February 9, at the Bowladium Family Fun Center, 73768 Gorgonio Drive, in Twentynine Palms, from noon to 3.30 pm. The event is open to individuals as well as four-person teams and admission is $20 per bowler. Raffle tickets will be sold at $5 a pop with a Grand Prize of four tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm.
