MORONGO BASIN SENIOR SUPPORT CENTERS CHANGE THEIR NAME AND MISSION

The former Morongo Basin Senior Support Center has announced it is changing its name. Executive Director Keri Grimes said the Senior Support Center’s name has failed to accurately depict the range of services offered by this valuable community resource, which has actually has had programs available to those eighteen and older. The new name, “The Center for Healthy Generations” (“The Center” for short) will have a new focus on providing service to all ages in the community with an all-volunteer staff. They will continue to provide warm-water saline pool classes, but now they are open to the entire community. If someone has a chronic condition such as arthritis, heart disease or stroke, that person will still need to have a doctor’s permission to engage in activities in the pool. What is different is that he or she will not have to be a senior. Come visit the new Center for Healthy Generations at 57121 Sunnyslope Drive, Yucca Valley, or call for more information at 760-365-9661.
