The Morongo Basin Ride Against Child Abuse is set for 9 a.m. Friday, April 15. The event will begin with remarks by local government and law enforcement officials at the Morongo basin Sheriff’s Station, and free information about resources and referrals for child abuse will be available. Motorcycle riders are encouraged to join the free ride from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station to Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, and Yucca Valley to let children know that their community is here for them. The students will be coming out to cheer the bikers as they ride by their schools, and residents are also encouraged to come out to the highway and cheer as the bikers ride by. There is no cost to ride; its sole intent is to raise community awareness and to provide resources to children, teens, and adults who are survivors of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Riders and residents are encouraged to wear teal and blue. For more information, call Erin at 760-369-3353.
