Last night’s gathering of the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council made one thing clear: Fire season is upon us.
County Fire got the ball rolling by noting that the agency has ceased all controlled burns since the month began. Jennifer Cusack, from Southern California Edison, presented on the SCE Wildfire Mitigation Efforts that include grid improvements, vegetation management, community outreach and the installation of high-def cameras to monitor remotely. She noted that in 2017, SCE had 928 outages due to the release of Mylar balloons and asked that those celebrating graduation please destroy and safely dispose of these gifts.
