Though originally scheduled to meet every other month, the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) will resume their monthly meetings starting tonight with an online gathering starting at 5:30 p.m.
The MAC agenda includes a resolution in memory of San Bernardino County Sheriff Sergeant Dominic Vaca from the Morongo Basin Station. MAC Chairperson Steve Reyes will present the resolution to honor Sergeant Vaca, 43, who attempted to stop a motorcycle on May 31 and was brought down by gunfire. A 17-year veteran of the department, Vaca left behind a wife and two daughters, ages 11 and four months.
The evening will also feature public safety reports from local fire and law enforcement. The agenda also includes a Chairman’s Report as well as individual reports from each of the nine non-incorporated regions: Copper Mountain Mesa, Desert Heights, Flamingo Heights, Joshua Tree, Landers, Morongo Valley, Pioneertown, Wonder Valley, and Yucca Mesa.
