The MAC meets tonight. After swearing in new member Jim Harvey tonight, the Municipal Advisory Council, the MAC, will discuss a community development housing plan presented by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The plan will assess the current housing market, discuss characteristics of the county’s population, identify community improvement priorities, and outline a five-year plan to fund and implement them. Tonight’s meeting will be the first of many meetings in the county to present the plan. Meetings are also set for July 16 in Twentynine Palms and in Yucca Valley. The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. in the Joshua Tree Community Center on Sunburst Avenue.
