MORONGO BASIN MAC MEETS IN SPECIAL MEETING TONIGHT

The Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council meets tonight, November 25, to establish a project priority list and consider formation of ad hoc committees and standing committees. The meeting starts at 6:30 pm at the Joshua Tree Community Center, at 6171 Sunburst. The list of issues to be ordered and added to include both Basin-wide and more localized concerns. In the first category are the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan, large scale housing developments, code enforcement issues, road maintenance, health department fees, zoning and development noticing procedures, and an emergency blue light system. Of interest to communities within the Basin are a Wonder Valley MBTA Route, water services in part of Landers and in Pioneertown, a MAC web site, management of the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, the Sand to Snow National Monument, and an east/west emergency route through Morongo Valley.
