Membership changes, bullying, representatives from a Joshua Tree residential project, and renewable energy siting are all on the agenda of the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council. Reporter Dan Stork has the details…
In the featured informational presentation at the September 8 meeting of the Morongo Basin MAC, Sheriff’s Captain Dale Mondary and two deputies will talk about bullying. Pat Flanagan, a Desert Heights resident, will be installed in the MAC seat vacated by David Peach of Joshua Tree. (Another opening on the MAC has appeared: the seat formerly held by Larry Parrott of Flamingo Heights is listed as vacant in the meeting notice.) There are two action items before the Council: whether to recommend a 30-day extension for comments on the proposed “Alta Mira Housing Project” in Joshua Tree, and a joint resolution with the Basin Energy Assessment Team that urges the Board of Supervisors to establish parameters for evaluating siting of renewable energy projects under the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Joshua Tree Community Center on Sunburst Avenue.
