Local crime and public safety is the focus of tonight’s meeting of the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council. Following brief reports, the public will have an opportunity to participate in a panel discussion with Morongo Basin Sheriff Station’s Captain Jeff Joling, will join Fire Chief John Chamberlin, and higher-ups from the California Highway Patrol, the District Attorney’s Office, Probation, and the National Park Ranger Station. Tonight’s panel discussion will precede community reports from MAC delegates representing Desert Heights, Flamingo Heights, Joshua Tree, Landers, Morongo Valley, Wonder Valley, and Yucca Mesa. It all starts at 6:30 at the Joshua Tree Community Center behind the Sportsman’s Club on Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree.
