Established in 1972 as a no-kill animal shelter, the Morongo Basin Humane Society (MBHS) will launch its annual year-end fundraiser on Giving Tuesday, November 30. Giving Tuesday is an online fundraiser for nonprofits, a global tradition that began in 2012 as a global movement to pause between holiday shopping trips to donate to a community cause, often stylized as #GivingTuesday. Through December 31, the MBHS will use the donations for food, shelter, bedding, clean kennels, and medical care for homeless pets in the region. After these basic needs are met, remaining donation funds will be applied toward the construction of a new shelter in 2022.
