The Morongo Basin Humane Society has launched its shoe collection drive fundraiser through December. Reporter Andrew Dieleman invites you to put your best foot forward for this good cause…
If you have a new pair of shoes that you won’t use, or a gently worn or used pair, you can put those shoes to work for good. All shoes collected will be sold to a social enterprise network which will redistribute the donated shoes to family-operated small businesses in developing nations. All proceeds will go towards the Morongo Basin Humane Society’s no-kill animal shelter in Joshua Tree. Collection bins are located at the Sprint Store, near the new Stater Bros in Yucca Valley; at 29 Paws Pet Grooming in Twentynine Palms; and at the MBHS no-kill Shelter in Joshua Tree. For more information on the shoe drive, contact Gayle Anderson at 323-807-7150.
