In a regular meeting last night, CEO Jackie Combs presented for approval, the District’s Strategic Plan for 2019 through 2020. Among the many tactics expressed were expanding access to non-emergency transportation for residents of the Morongo Basin, increasing the number of primary and specialty care providers. and to continue ongoing seminars on preventive health. The Board approved the plan unanimously. Then the Board recognized Kathy Alkire and her program team for their innovative work in the Diabetes Management Education Program. At the end, the board adjourned to close session for a discussion involving trade secrets; the topic is expected to be disclosed in October.
