The Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Directors had a full meeting last night. Reporter Eric Knabe provides the details…
Joe Ruddon, Director of Business Development, began the meeting with three presentations. First, the wellness garden at the Split Rock medical facility will include a mural tribute to the Kenney Drug Store. Next, Ruddon reported on the active shooter training that he set up for the staff at the various facilities. It was so helpful, he said, that it was decided to have the training every year. Then an update on the health fair at Luckie Park. New this year, the Flying Doctors will provide dental and vision care. Next, CEO Jackie Combs asked the board to approve the transfer of $500,000 from the investment fund to the District’s operations fund to help pay for the Mobile Medical Unit and upgrades to the Yucca Valley campus. Without it, the operations fund would be financially vulnerable till the first of the year. The board unanimously approved the transfer.
