At last night’s meeting of the Morongo Basin Healthcare
District, the board was excited to receive a $25,000 grant from the Morongo
Basin Transit Authority as part of their Transportation Assistance Program.
Award monies go to support the LIFT program for free medical transportation.
The funds are designated to purchase an additional mini-van enabling a higher
level of regional care. Immediately following, the Board was then recognized by
the Association of California Healthcare Districts for superior achievements in
the areas of government best practices, website access and transparency. Marina
Servantez from the ACHD presented the award stating it was, “an honor to see a
model healthcare district in action.”

The directors were further excited when, for the second year, the annual audit was submitted and approved with the auditors finding no items requiring any further review. Similarly the quarter end finance report, once again, showed a positive operating income. After being reminded of the open house at the Split Rock facility Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Board of Directors convened into a closed session about “trade secrets.”
