The Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Directors will hold two back-to-back meetings tonight (February 2). At 6 p.m., the board will hold the first of two public hearings on their plan to to transition from at-large to district-based elections, bringing the Healthcare District in line with the high-deserts other publicly funded government bodies, most of which have switched to district-based voting in the last several years.
The regularly scheduled board meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. where the board is expected to discuss the proposed voting change and receive various reports from staff. The meetings can be attended in person at the District’s Yucca Valley office, located at 6530 La Contenta Road, Suite 400.
The second public hearing will be held on March 2. Written comments may be delivered to the District’s administrative office located at 6530 La Contenta Road, Suite 200, Yucca Valley, California, 92284, or submitted by email to the board clerk, Karen Graley: [email protected]
