The main action item on last night’s agenda of the Morongo Basin Healthcare District meeting had no action. Reporter Eric Knabe explains why…

The Morongo Basin Healthcare District Board of Directors met in a regular meeting last night to discuss the purchase of a mobile clinic vehicle.
Director of Business Development Joe Ruddon provided a comprehensive presentation, from his own research, but also from Mary Hall, President of Universal Specialty Vehicles, who had the prevailing low bid to manufacture said vehicle. Hall and Ruddon answered all the questions asked by the board with ease, until asked about maintenance costs, and only a rough estimate could be provided. Board member Paul Hoffman expressed unease at voting on an action item without all the numbers. He then requested that this action item be tabled until a full assessment on the maintenance costs could be obtained. The rest of the board agreed and rescheduled the vote to April 30 at 3 p.m.
