The Morongo Basin Healthcare District board of directors met last night to discuss food and drink policy and maintenance costs. Reporter Eric Knabe has the details..
In response to OSHA regulations, the Morongo Basin Healthcare District got off to a quick start last night with a unanimous vote revising the employee food and drink policy. The board was then asked to approve cost increases for repairs at the Yucca Valley campus. It was suggested that to handle the increased cost they could concentrate on the repairs to the parapet now and wait till fall for repairs to the roof. Board member Paul Hoffman asked if there was money available now to handle both projects before costs rise again. The answer was “yes.” Board president Bob Armstrong stated that he would like to know exactly where the extra funds would be coming from before he could approve. Vice president Marge Doyle stated these repairs to the property were needed before there was a Healthcare District and had been deferred long enough. When the vote was taken it was four approvals and one no from Armstrong.
