General Manager of the Mojave Water Agency Tom McCarthy will discuss the background of water in the Mojave Desert to provide perspective about the future of water in the Morongo Basin. The lecture will be held Saturday, September 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center. Historical photos and documents will be displayed during an informal reception. Light refreshments will also be provided. There will be a short presentation in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the California Desert Protection Act, and McCarthy’s lecture will conclude the event.
