Local animal shelters in Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and Twentynine Palms are in need of donations. The county animal shelter in Joshua Tree is seeking large stuffed toys to help comfort their animals. Other current needed donations for all shelters include new or gently used blankets and towels of all sizes, animal beds, and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations are also needed. Donors are asked to contact their local animal shelter ahead of time to schedule an appointment for dropping off donations. Many shelters feed their animals a consistent diet, so contact your local shelter before donating food or treats.
