Morongo Basin Ambulance sent a strike team of ambulances to transfer patients from Arrowhead Regional Medical Center during a nurses’ strike Tuesday. Hundreds of nurses picketed outside the hospital starting Tuesday for two days, demanding higher wages and protesting working conditions. Hospital administrators called on multiple agencies in San Bernardino County to help transfer more than 200 patients to other local hospitals during the strike. Eleven employees from Morongo Basin Ambulance used three advanced life support and one basic life support ambulance, along with a strike team leader, to transfer patients all Monday night into Tuesday morning. The strike team was formed in addition to the other four MBA ambulances that were already on duty serving the Morongo Basin.
