Joshua Tree National Park is our wild and beautiful backyard but sadly, there have been three locations marred by graffiti. Reporter Heather Clisby has more details…
Reports of graffiti in Joshua Tree National Park have the park’s law enforcement and graffiti team scrambling to remove the damage and determine who is behind it. Incidents at Rattlesnake Canyon, Skull Rock Nature Trail, and along Geology Tour Road have marred the otherwise pristine landscape. The park has received leads regarding possible suspects though no arrests have been made.
Park Superintendent David Smith stated that using paint or chisels on rocks or trees in the park is illegal and that this activity “destroys the beauty we are trying to protect.”
