More than half of the people who are infected with COVID-19 have no symptoms of the disease, according to a model developed by researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Managing editor Tami Roleff has more information…
The model’s findings by the Centers for Disease Control found that 59% of the cases of COVID-19 were transmitted by people who did not exhibit any symptoms at the time of transmission. More than a third of those cases—35%—came from people who infected others before they themselves showed any symptoms. The remaining 24% never showed any symptoms at all. Health officials stress that people should continue to wash their hands, avoid touching their face, social distance, wear a mask, and be tested for COVID-19.
