MORE ON MORONGO VALLEY CRASH THAT CLOSED THE GRADE MONDAY

We have more information about a crash in Morongo Valley that shut down Highway 62 for hours Monday night. About 9:25 p.m., Jessica Gallegos, 30, of Morongo Valley, was driving a 2015 black Chevrolet Silverado westbound on the highway. As she approached Samel Road, Gallegos turned the truck to the right and it left the road and crashed into a power pole. The pole was sheered from the ground, causing it to lean over all traffic lanes with live wires. All traffic was stopped on the highway until 3 a.m. when Southern California Edison and CalTrans were able to secure the pole. Both directions of traffic were then diverted to the eastbound lanes while SoCal Edison replaced the pole. Gallegos and her passenger, Dwayne Dotson, 32, of Oceanside, were both wearing their seatbelts and were not injured.
