More details on an arrest for attempted murder in Landers Wednesday. According to Sheriff Sergeant D. Garvin, Coral Schilling, 62, of the 4200 block of Youngs Freeway, called 911 at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday to report that her husband, David, was threatening to have a shoot-out with police. Schilling told 911 that deputies should bring a SWAT team with them, as her husband was high on drugs and alcohol, had a rifle and scope as well as numerous other guns, and was a good shot. Schilling also said she had gone outside the house where she fired a .38-caliber Ruger at the house. When deputies arrived, David Schilling denied his wife’s allegations. After an investigation, Coral Schilling was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after deputies discovered a bullet hole from the gun she fired in the wall of her husband’s bedroom. Schilling was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with her bail set at $1 million.
