There has been a rash of burglaries in Yucca Valley. Yesterday, we reported five, and at least three more burglaries in Yucca Valley were reported Monday, and three people were arrested in connection with at least one of the burglaries. A generator and tools were reported stolen from a home in the 7600 block of Aster Avenue. The County’s Children and Family Services office on Pima Trail reported that three tires had been stolen from a county vehicle parked in its parking lot, and then the burglars left the vehicle up on blocks. And a resident in the 55100 block of Airlane Drive called the Sheriff’s Department about 9:30 a.m. Monday to report someone had forced entry into his garage, and the suspected burglar was sleeping on the floor of his garage. The burglar fled and after a short foot pursuit, deputies found the suspect, James Burke, 25, of Yucca Valley, near Inca Trail and the highway and detained him. James Burke was arrested for investigation of burglary, and for a warrant for his arrest. Burke was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his total bail set at $50,000. During the course of the investigation, deputies located two other suspects, Edward Medina, 45, and Alicia Forrester, 45, both of Yucca Valley, in the 55200 block of Airlane Drive, who were in possession of stolen property from another burglary. Edward Medina and Alicia Forrester were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property. Forrester was cited and released; Medina was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held without bail for violating his probation.
