MONSOONS BRING WILDFLOWER ACTIVITY TO JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

0

Joshua Tree National Park has put out a special monsoon edition of its blooming wildflower report. Golden carpets of manybristle cinchweed are covering the desert floor on the west entrance to the park, along with yellow bushes of desert senna, and several other colorful flowers. Desert sand verbena, creosote flowers, and datura, among others, can be seen near the Barker Dam area. Park officials urge visitors to keep an eye out at the north entrance and the Queen Mountains area, as the monsoon rains last week may result in blooms of desert senna, apricot globemallow, datura, and bladdersage flowers.
