MONDAY NIGHT CRASH CLOSES HIGHWAY IN MORONGO VALLEY

A crash last night in Morongo Valley has partially closed Highway 62 in Morongo Valley. The California Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 9:26 p.m. westbound at the highway and Samel Road. One of the vehicles crashed into a power pole which fell across westbound lanes. There were no injuries. All traffic was stopped about 10 p.m. The highway is partially re-opened now; currently westbound traffic is using the eastbound #1 lane and eastbound traffic is using the eastbound #2 lane. Use extreme caution and allow extra time for travel. The highway is expected to be fully open about 10 a.m.
