The Mojave Water Agency is offering a $5,000 scholarship and four $1,000 scholarships for students who win an essay contest on the future of water in the desert. The scholarship is open to students in grades 9 through 12, as well as freshmen and sophomores in college. Essays on “What Does the High Desert’s Water Future Look Like in 2036” must be between 550 and 900 words. The top five finalists will give an oral presentation to a panel of judges.
