The Mojave Desert Land Trust recently received a grant to continue its programs to bring youth to Joshua Tree National Park for camping and outdoor education. In partnership with Outdoor Outreach, the land trust’s project promotes urban outreach and connecting youth to the outdoors. It was one of 19 projects selected from 134 applications. The California Council of Land Trusts received a $10,000 grant to divide among the Mojave Land Trust, the John Muir Land Trust, and the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust. The grant by the National Park Service and the Outdoor Foundation’s 2017 Challenge Cost Share Program requires a one-to-one match by the recipient.
