Light pollution and the abundance of artificial light has long been recognized as a threat to our dark night skies and the tourists who flock here to experience them. But a new study finds that light pollution in the Mojave Desert may be far more serious than previously considered. Reporter Mike Lipsitz is here with more on the study and how you can attend the video premiere showcasing the research…
A new study on light pollution in the Mojave Trails National Monument suggests artificial light threatens far more than stargazers; it threatens the health and survival of plants and animals there. As part of International Dark Sky Week this week (April 5-12), the Mojave Desert Land Trust invites you to virtually attend a short film premier and webinar on the study and discussion on opportunities to help preserve the quality of our dark night skies. The presentation takes place at 6 p.m. this Thursday, April 8.
