MOJAVE DESERT LAND TRUST CAMPFIRE TALK ON THE ANTIQUITIES ACT TONIGHT

0

Three years ago, President Obama used the Antiquities Act to designate three new national monuments in Southern California: Sand to Snow, Mojave Trails, and Castle Mountain. The Antiquities Act gives the president the power to designate federal lands as national monuments in order to protect and preserve historic and prehistoric landmarks and structures, and other objects of historic or scientific interest. The Mojave Desert Land Trust will sponsor a campfire talk Friday, January 25, on the history and legacy of the Antiquities Act. Adam Henne will begin the multi-media presentation at 6 p.m. The Mojave Desert Land Trust is located on the highway across from the cemetery in Joshua Tree.
