A moderate earthquake rattled our region this morning. A 4.5 magnitude earthquake was felt at 4:49 a.m. centered 7 miles north of Cabazon. It was at a depth of 8 miles. That first quake was followed by a second 3.2 magnitude earthquake at 4:51 a.m. centered in the same general location. There were no initial reports of any damage or injuries. People reported feeling the quake as far away as San Diego, Oceanside, Los Angeles and to the northwest in Palmdale. The initial quakes were followed by more than two dozen much smaller aftershocks in the 0 to 2.0 range as of 5:45 a.m.
