The Morongo Basin Healthcare District’s Mobile Medical Unit could be near you in December. The unit will be at the Wonder Valley Community Center Wednesday, December 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at Tortoise Rock Casino in Twentynine Palms Saturday, December 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A nurse practitioner will be on board, providing primary medical care and screenings, and if necessary, prescribing lab tests and refilling prescriptions. Some immunizations are also available. Most insurance plans are accepted however, care is still provided regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Appointments are not required.
