The Morongo Basin Healthcare District’s Mobile Medical Unit could be near you in March. The unit will be at Covington Park in Morongo Valley Thursday, March 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Reach Out Morongo Basin (Twentynine Palms Senior Center) Thursday, March 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the Johnson Valley Community Center, Saturday, March 21, 8 to noon; and Tortoise Rock Casino in Twentynine Palms Saturday, March 28, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A nurse practitioner will provide primary medical care and screenings, and if necessary, prescribe lab tests and refill prescriptions. Some immunizations are also available. Medi-Cal, IEHP and most insurances are accepted however, care is still provided regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Appointments are not required.
