The Morongo Basin Healthcare District’s Mobile Medical Unit could be near you in January. The unit will be at the Johnson Valley Community Center on Wednesday, January 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Reach Out Morongo Basin (Twentynine Palms Senior Center) Thursday, January 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Morongo Valley Covington Park Friday, January 10, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Center for Healthy Generations in Yucca Valley, Thursday, January 16, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wonder Valley Community Center, Wednesday, January 22, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Tortoise Rock Casino in Twentynine Palms Saturday, January 25, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A nurse practitioner will provide primary medical care and screenings, and if necessary, prescribe lab tests and refill prescriptions. Some immunizations are also available. Medi-Cal, IEHP and most insurances are accepted however, care is still provided regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Appointments are not required.
