MISSING YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN FOUND DECEASED IN LANDERS

A Yucca Valley woman reported missing Saturday morning was found deceased Monday evening in Landers. Dayle Will, 68, the wife of Morongo Unified School District Trustee Ed Will, left her home in Yucca Valley at about 7:00 a.m. When she did not return as expected, Will reported her missing. Four Sheriff’s deputies from the Morongo Basin Station and a helicopter worked to locate her. Monday at about 5:00 p.m., a citizen saw a vehicle matching the description of her missing mini-van parked on Sage Avenue in the desert near Linn Road in Landers. Deputies responded to the area along with Sheriff’s aviation and located Dayle Will deceased in the desert a short distance from her vehicle. The cause of death is pending a coroner investigation. There were no suspicious circumstances and the death appears to be from natural causes. In a statement, Ed Will said, “Thank you all so much for your assistance and consideration. It is so heartwarming to know that so many of my friends were out there helping to locate my wife, Dayle. I am grateful for all of your prayers and concern for my family. Thank you.” He also thanked searchers, saying, “The Sheriff’s department did an incredible job in their diligence to locate and ultimately find the van.”
