Is the truck stolen, or is it just misplaced? That’s the question facing the vehicle’s owner and the Sheriff’s Department. The other night, a man was driving his truck home on Winters Road in Twentynine Palms late at night when he got lost, and then his truck got stuck in the sand. At first light, the owner went to a nearby residence to get help to get his truck unstuck. When the men were unable to get the truck unstuck, the owner gave the men the keys to his vehicle with the understanding that they would continue to try to get the truck out of the sand. The men then gave the owner a ride home. The owner has not seen his vehicle since, has not heard from the men who tried to help him, and can’t remember where his truck got stuck, or where the helpers live. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
