MISSING ROCK HUNTER FOUND SAFE IN WONDER VALLEY

It’s a story that could have had a tragic ending, but thanks to a woman who was worried about her fiancé, a Twentynine Palms man and his two dogs are back home safe. The man, whom deputies did not identify, left his home with his two German Shepherds in the 7000 block of El Sol Avenue about 4 p.m. Friday to go rock hunting on Gold Crown Road in Wonder Valley. When his fiancée returned home at 1:30 a.m., he was not home, and she called deputies to report him as a missing person. After searching the missing man’s computer, the deputy drove out to Gold Crown Road and found the missing man’s vehicle, the man and his two dogs. The man said his vehicle had gotten stuck and he did not have cell phone service. The deputy transported the man and his dogs back home; the man said he would go back later to retrieve his stuck vehicle.
