MISSING NEWPORT WOMAN FOUND AFTER WEDNESDAY SEARCH

A missing 69-year-old woman from Newport Beach was the subject of a Wednesday (March 23) search when family members reported her missing in Yucca Valley. Sheriff’s deputies searched from the land and the sky for the woman in the Yucca Valley area. According to the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s station, on Tuesday (March 22) afternoon a family member reported Judith Kee missing out of Newport Beach. Deputies responded after reporting parties located a vehicle and property belonging to Kee near Machris Park in Yucca Valley. Responding deputies immediately began an investigation into Kee’s whereabouts with a tracking K-9 and a helicopter but were unsuccessful in locating her. Just before noon on Wednesday, Detective Shaunna Ables located Judith Kee while searching the area one mile south of Machris Park. Kee appeared to have fallen and was found in a small wash area surrounded by desert brush, which hid her from public view. Kee was injured from her fall and dehydrated from being out in the elements. Kee was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
