MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT ACCUSED OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A Twentynine Palms pastor and President of the Ministerial Association was arrested Tuesday evening after his wife said he threatened to stab her and his children. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman called police about 7:45 Tuesday evening to report Steven Byrnes, 58, was threatening to stab her and her children. The woman said she was afraid of him, and so left her home in 73900 block of Gorgonio Drive. She also told deputies that Byrnes had a compound bow and a knife collection. After investigation, Steven Byrnes was arrested for suspicion of making terrorist threats, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
