MILITARY WORKING DOGS HELP DEMONSTRATE SAFETY PREPAREDNESS

An event to help residents be prepared for emergencies and natural disasters was held in Yucca Valley recently. Emergency preparedness events bring together many government and community-oriented agencies to help residents prepare for emergencies. One of the demonstrations at the event earlier this month was Marines who showed off what their military working dogs, or MWD, could do. Staff Sergeant Braxton Rico, the kennel master at the base’s working dog kennel, explained.

“Basically, we’re sharing what capabilities we have as military working dogs handling and what we provide for the installation, but also building the community relations in Yucca Valley and surrounding areas.”
